What is MyGlobalTalk™?
In an industry “first”, MyGlobalTalk™ places Internet telephony in the hands of every cell phone user independent of wireless carrier technology, handset manufacturer, or the type of wireless carrier voice/data plan involved. In addition, MyGlobalTalk™ is fully functional without local access to the Internet or proximity to an Internet “hotspot”. Users also need not wait for the availability of a dual-mode WiFi phone because MyGlobalTalk™ provides the benefits of a dual-mode phone at a fraction of the cost using the customer’s existing mobile handset. What is VOIP?
| VoIP (or Voice over Internet Protocol) is a great way to make and receive phone calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of your standard phone line. MyGlobalTalk™ simply converts your phone calls into data, which then travels through an Internet connection on the i2Telecom VOIP network. You won’t notice any difference from a normal phone call, except that it’s more convenient and a lot less expensive!
What's the catch?
| No catch. Just pay for the calls you make – No Contract, No Connection Fees & No Minimums. If you travel and call internationally, our global calling gives you the ability to call hundreds of major cities around the world plus the entire U.S. and Canada for as low as just 2 cents a minute – anywhere in the world.

What is a Smartphone?
A smartphone is a mobile phone offering advanced capabilities beyond a typical mobile phone, often with PC-like functionality. There is no industry standard definition of a
smartphone. For some, a smartphone is a phone that runs complete operating system software providing a standardized interface and platform for application developers. For others, a smartphone is simply a phone with advanced features.
In terms of features, most smartphones support full featured email capabilities with the functionality of a complete personal organizer (PDA). Other functionality might include an additional interface such as a miniature QWERTY keyboard, a touch screen or a D-pad, a built-in camera, contact management, an accelerometer, built-in navigation hardware and software, the ability to read business documents in a variety of formats such as PDF and Microsoft Office, media software for playing music, browsing photos and viewing video clips, internet browsers or even just secure access to company mail, such as is provided by a BlackBerry. Does MyGlobalTalk™ work like a regular cell phone call?
| From the perspective of the caller, a call made using MyGlobalTalk™ looks like any other call – except the sound quality is usually better. You
dial your international phone number just like you would if you were using a regular phone by dialing 011 from the United States:
How good is the call quality?
| When you make a call using MyGlobalTalk™ to another MyGlobalTalk™ user, you will probably experience better clarity than on an ordinary cell phone call because with digital technology, there is no static or noise. When you make a call using MyGlobalTalk™ to a standard phone, the clarity will be similar to a traditional phone call.
Can I receive calls on my on my cell phone while MyGlobalTalk™ is enabled?
The simple answer is YES. Remember, the MyGlobalTalk™ application is only active for outgoing calls. In other words, MyGlobalTalk™ does not interfere with incoming calls to your cell phone.
You can also forward any call made to your MyGlobalTalk™ phone to another number (i.e. a hotel, office phone, etc.). See Global Call Forwarding.

How do I pay for my MyGlobalTalk™?
There are two steps in our billing process.
1. Choose how much to fund your account
Once you select the amount, your credit card will be charged immediately for the amount selected and the funds will be added directly to your account.
2. Select Auto Recharge
When you select Auto Recharge, your account will automatically recharge with a set amount when your account gets low. Your credit card will be charged immediately for the amount selected and the funds will be added directly to your account.
Currently, you need to fund your account for what you feel is a reasonable estimate of the amount of calling you think you will be making in the next 30 days or so. To pre-pay for these calls, simply go to My Account and find the Add Funds section. Enter the amount you want to add to your account. Your account balance will be increased immediately.
When you approach your limit, you will hear a warning tone during your call. This means you should add funds to your calling account right away. If you exceed your allotted funds, you will no longer be able to place calls until you add funds to your account.
What happens when my account is empty?
When you are near your limit, you will hear a warning tone during a phone call. This means you should add more money to your calling account right away. If you exceed your allotted funds, you will no longer be able to place calls until you add money to your account.
You can also opt-in to auto recharge your account when you get near the limit of your available funds.
I sometimes see ads with rates better than yours. Why?
Most low-cost long distance providers have hidden charges in their rate plans which make their rates deceptive. There are no hidden or extra fees in our plans. Common tactics are:
- Charging for a minimum call time (a two minute call is charged as a 15 minute call)
- Charging a per-call connect fee, hidden taxes, fees, and "recovery" charges
- Refusing to give you a detailed account of all calls made and charges applied
- Publishing off-peak rate
- High connection fees per call
MYGLOBALTALK ONLY CHARGES YOU FOR THE MINUTES USED!
Why does it cost more to call an international mobile phone?
| Outside the USA and Canada, many countries charge the person making the call to a mobile phone. While MyGlobalTalk™ offers no additional charge beyond the normal per minute cost to call mobile phones, many international mobile phone companies still charge a small fee. WE DON’T DO THAT!
Can you explain the international rates?
Our rates are so low that we often need to represent them as far as three decimal points. For example, you may see a rate such as 0.012 to China - Beijing. This means that calls to China - Beijing are 1.2 cents per minute.
One more example, a call to Bolivia-Cellular costs 0.140 which equates to 14 cents per minute. If you have any further questions, contact Customer Service for assistance.
Will MyGlobalTalk™ replace my cell phone?
Not entirely.
You will likely want to use your cell phone for normal cell phone calls within the US, but for all international calls, you will certainly want to use MyGlobalTalk™ since these calls will cost as low as 2 cents a minute instead of the extremely high costs charged by most wireless carriers. In future releases of MyGlobalTalk™ you will want to use it for US calls when you have reached the limits of your cell phone calling plan. Also, by using the MyGlobalTalk™ Global Call Forwarding feature, you can forward all calls made to your MyGlobalTalk™ number to a number where you can be reached anywhere in the world, which is all included in your MyGlobalTalk™ calling plan. This way, friends can make a local call to your MyGlobalTalk™ number and reach you wherever you are in the world.
For example, if you’re calling internationally from the US on your cell phone, you can benefit by using MyGlobalTalk™ which links your cell phone to your MyGlobalTalk™ calling plan. So while a 20 minute call to Italy can be made with the MyGlobalTalk™ for a total of approximately 40 cents, it could cost over $7.00 with a typical cell phone plan!
See MyGlobalTalk™ Bridge and Global Call Forwarding.
Can I find MyGlobalTalk™ in stores?
| No. MyGlobalTalk™ is FREE to our customers by going online at www.myglobaltalk.com.
Can I call 411 or a 555-1212 number for directory assistance?
| These numbers would not be detected by MyGlobalTalk™ and will be dialed on your cell phone in the same manner as they would if you did not have MyGlobalTalk™ on your phone.
E911
| MyGlobalTalk™ is only used for outgoing international calls and therefore it does not detect when the user dials 911. All 911 or Enhanced 911 (E911) calls are supported solely by the user’s wireless carrier.
International Mobile Numbers
Most International mobile phone companies still charge a fee to call Mobile Numbers outside the US and the costs are generally higher than calls to landlines in the same country.
Enter the Mobile number you wish to call in the input form on our International Mobile Rates page to see the exact per minute cost of a call to that number. These rates will generally be much less expensive than calling from your landline phone or your cell phone without MyGlobalTalk™.
Special Services Calling
| “Special Services” is an international catch-all phrase that describes any type of call you make that requires connection charges beyond an ordinary home or business land-line phone. The most typical examples are Freephone (the international version of 1-800 numbers), shared-cost numbers, or calls to rural areas that require satellite transmission to complete. These types of calls typically cost about the same as mobile calls.
DID (Direct Inward Dialing)
| A telephone number that is part of the North American Numbering Plan. Your DID allows your MyGlobalTalk™ account to receive calls from any landline or cellular telephone in the world and allows you to utilize such MyGlobalTalk™ features as Global Call Forwarding and the MyGlobalTalk™ Bridge.
